Two armies. One dry riverbed.

For forty days the giant came down and the nation did not answer. The field waited. So did the boy who kept sheep.

Bronze, iron, and a voice that stopped a nation.

Six cubits and a span. A spear like a weaver’s beam. He asked for a man, and no man came — until a shepherd walked out of the line.

He chose five smooth stones. He only needed one.

No sword. No armor that fit. Only a sling, a still heart, and the name of the Lord. The battle was never going to be even. It was never supposed to be.

Not away from it. Not around it. Toward it. That is still the shape of courage — and the shape of faith.
